Although the pandemic has meant that many trades businesses have had to make changes to the way they worked, thankfully the majority have been able to stay operational, as has Trak. Trade Trak’s latest feature allows you to better manage your projects by breaking them down into sub-jobs and can be used for things such as:
- Multi unit developments
- Stages of a projects (e.g. rough in and fit off)
- Managing a build with different subcontractors
- Recurring maintenance jobs for one client
Each sub-job can have it’s own quotes and invoices, SWMS, reports and different users, while being easily accessible under the one project. Creating a sub-job is also charged at the same rate as normal jobs - just one credit. Files can be shared with the entire project, or just specific sub-jobs, whilst each sub-job can have it’s own subcontractor allocated. Learn how to use the feature here.
While our features and fields are designed to work for the majority of trades businesses, we realise that it’s not a one size fits all situation. To help make the app work for all businesses, we’ve released the custom fields feature. Add your own custom text boxes and dropdowns to jobs or client forms on the Custom Fields Settings page. You can learn how to use the feature here.
Although we have always had a user calendar, over the past few months it’s undergone some serious upgrades. On the user calendar, you can now:
- Schedule users for jobs or non-job items (which can be set here)
- Set items to be recurring (e.g. trade school)
- Set a different colour for each user so they’re easily distinguishable
- Notify users of updates to their schedule

Updated Annotations Feature
Our annotations feature was recently upgraded to ensure it’s as efficient and streamlined as possible. All of your files can be annotated quickly, saved to your account while still retaining the original document, shared and downloaded. Annotations allow you to:
- Highlight areas
- Add text to your document
- Add drawings
- Circle areas of importance
