Job management for sole traders who do it all.
You quote in the evenings, invoice on the weekend, chase paperwork between jobs. Trak gives you those hours back.
5 free job credits to start. No card required.
Where you are right now
You're the tradie, the salesman, the bookkeeper, the receptionist, and the boss. The actual work is the easy part. It's everything around the work that's slowly eating your week.
The quotes that have to happen in the evening because you were on the tools all day. The invoices that pile up because there's no admin person. The receipts in the centre console of the ute that should be reconciled against a job but never are. The phone calls confirming tomorrow's start times because you don't have a system to do that automatically.
You don't need enterprise job management. You need a tool that gives you a couple of hours back every week without asking you to learn a new way of working.
Who this is for
Solo trade operators, including:
- Just you and the van, no employees
- You plus an apprentice 1 or 2 days a week
- A casual subbie you bring on for the bigger jobs
- Side-of-desk admin from a partner or family member
Typically you're running 20 to 60 jobs a month. You answer your own phone, you do your own books (or wish you didn't), and you'd like to spend your evenings doing literally anything else.
What you can buy back
The right software at this size isn't about scale. It's about hours.
-
Your evenings.
Quotes built from saved line items in 5 minutes, not 30 minutes typing the same list out again at 8pm.
-
Your weekends.
Invoice the job before you've packed the ute. No more Sunday morning catch-ups at the kitchen table.
-
Your headspace.
One system tracking quotes, jobs, invoices, and expenses. Not four apps and a whiteboard that don't talk to each other.
-
Your margin.
Knowing what each job actually cost you. Materials, time, fuel, tolls. So next quarter's quotes price the right number.
-
Your time on the phone.
Automatic SMS reminders for upcoming jobs and overdue invoices. The phone tag with clients stops.
How Trak fits sole traders
Speed to quote.
Itemised, branded quotes with your line items saved as templates, so the second quote of the same kind takes 90 seconds instead of half an hour.
The app for site work.
Check the day's schedule, capture a signature, complete a SWMS, snap photos and update the job from your phone. Quoting and invoicing are done from the desktop.
Expenses against the job.
Record receipts and materials against the job they belong to, so at month-end the costs are already sitting where they should be instead of in the centre console of the ute.
Two-way Xero or MYOB.
Quotes, invoices, and payments flow into your accounting software automatically. Your bookkeeper doesn't have to chase you for missing invoices.
Free to start.
The Basic plan is genuinely free if you're running low job volume. $1 per job created, no monthly fee, no card on file.
A subbie now and then, no per-user fee.
Bring on a mate or an apprentice for a bigger job. They get limited access to their work. You don't get a bigger bill the month after.

Recommended plan
Most sole traders start on Basic.
Basic is genuinely free if you're running low job volume. No monthly fee, $1 per job created. At 20 jobs a month that's $20 in software costs. At 40 it's $40. You pay for the work, not for the privilege of having an account.
When you're consistently running enough jobs that the Pro plan's advanced quoting, job profitability tracking, and product bundling pay for themselves (typically around 50 jobs a month), the upgrade is one click and your data carries across.
No gate. You can change tiers any time with no data migration.
Common questions at this size
-
Is Basic really free?
If you're running low job volume, yes. The Basic plan has no monthly fee. You pay $1 per job you create. At 20 jobs a month, that's $20. No card required to sign up and no contracts.
-
Will it actually work for just me?
Yes. Trak supports businesses from one person up to 100+. The interface scales down to a single operator without feeling sparse, and the in-field app covers the parts of the job that happen away from a desk.
-
What can I do from the phone?
The in-field app covers site work: your schedule for the day, capturing signatures, completing SWMS, attaching photos and files, and updating jobs as they run. Quoting, invoicing and reporting are done from the desktop, so the office side of the job still needs a laptop or tablet.
-
Can I bring on an apprentice without paying more?
Yes. Trak doesn't charge per user. Add an apprentice, a casual, or a subbie for 2 weeks and your plan price doesn't change. You only pay for jobs you create.
-
Will someone help me move off spreadsheets?
Yes. Our team helps with the initial setup at no extra cost. Import your client list from a CSV, set up your first few job types, and you're running.
-
What happens when my volume grows?
The per-job model scales naturally. When you're consistently running enough jobs that the Pro plan's advanced quoting and job profitability features start paying for themselves (usually around 50+ jobs a month), you can upgrade. No re-platforming needed.
